| Boyd 6 weeks and Cole 21 months |
I heard so many horror stories about the older child not accepting the new addition and fortunately we didn't have that experience. Cole and Boyd absolutely adore each other! Boyd turns his head toward Cole whenever he hears him close by and Cole gives Boyd kisses every chance he gets...even when Boyd is sleeping peacefully. Unlike the first child,who is pristine all the time, Boyd has Cole's slobber and food all over his face daily! Any time Boyd starts to cry Cole runs over to him and says "baby cry" and he tries to put the pacifier in his mouth.
Cole is protective of his little brother, I guess his natural instincts of being a big brother kicked in! It started at a neighbors house when their 3 year old twins were trying to tickle Boyd and Cole signed help to me by patting his chest and wanted me to pick Boyd up. Then we were at the Sanford splash pad yesterday and a group of school kids were over by the stroller looking at a bug. Cole thought they were looking at his brother so he ran over, mind you he was in the middle of playing in the water, to the stroller and stood between them and the baby until they left. How sweet is that?! Watching this bond unravel is so exciting and knowing that it will last a life time melts my heart. I am so excited to watch it grow through the years!
